Briner Signs, one of the most prolific producers of signage in Victoria, has effectively tripled its capacity for output, following the installation of a new swissQprint Kudu UV LED flatbed printer.

Briner’s new printer will also fast track the launch and distribution of an entirely new product offering set, to provide a solution for ‘one and done’ signage.

Con Tsakonas, managing director at Briner said, “We’re just about to launch a new product, a 600mm by 450mm A-frame which was designed to allow for foam board inserts, eliminating the ‘stripping’ process, and removing double handling. The client will be able to change the message on the A-frame without needing to return it to Briner, and can have multiple designs for a single A-frame.

“The new printer is going to allow us to produce these inserts at high volumes, so we’re excited to see how that’s received by the real estate industry in particular.”

The printer, the second of its kind in Victoria, and one of only four in Australia, has been operational for just six weeks, and already has had a measurable impact on Briner’s capacity to produce its broad product range.

Briner’s new printer allows for printing up to 304sqm per hour, a marked improvement from its previous machine, which reached a maximum of 50sqm per hour.

It features ten colour channels, a 3.2 x 2 metre print area, 30 print heads, and 1350 dpi maximum resolution. Additionally, Briner now has capacity to create vibrant signage using neon inks, previously unavailable to clients.

Tsakonas says the new technology won’t see any additional costs passed on to its clients, but will enable greater efficiency regarding delivery and installation time.

“We’ve been really impressed already by the output of product we’re now able to achieve for our clients, which is an enormous benefit,” he said.

“Our clients are predominantly in real estate, from high-end to master planned estates, so the requirement to fulfill their needs varies quite a bit. We’re able to well and truly stick to schedule, and increase our capacity at the same time, that’s where the value is for us and our clients.”

Suppliers of the swissQprint machines in Australia, Pozitive Sign & Graphic Supplies, said it was pleased to have worked with Briner on the successful delivery and installation, and anticipates other companies will follow suit in adopting new technologies.

"It’s exciting to see Briner take this step forward, The Kudu offers a combination of speed, versatility, and precision that will allow them to meet increasing demand while elevating the quality of their output," said Phil Trumble, managing director of Pozitive.

"One of the key advantages of the Kudu is the reliability it offers compared to other machines. With higher speeds, greater print quality, and dependable performance, Briner now has the confidence to handle larger jobs without compromising deadlines or consistency.”
