CANVA OFFERS DESIGN-TO-PRINT VIA HP USERS
Canva has partnered with HP in a deal which will mean local print businesses using HP Indigo and HP large format equipment will be able to print work designed and ordered on Canva.
Online design platform Canva has some 185 million monthly users, who are designing for both digital graphics and print, for a range of media including paper, cards, caps, t-shirts, mugs, cartons and more.
The new partnership is essentially design-to-print for Canva’s massive customer numbers, and a new revenue stream for HP Indigo and Large Format users.
HP users are not automatically on the Canva network. HP supports Canva connecting with HP users that are within the region they are expanding into, and can support their strategy to build out their localised Canva Print service.
Canva will send its orders to the print business through the advanced order management platform into different production management platforms via API, including HP PrintOS Site Flow.
Canva negotiates the price of orders with each of their chosen Print Partners. Payment does not come with the job. The financial flow exists directly between Canva and the print partner.
The global multi-year partnership between Canva and HP aims to deliver an accessible, scalable, and sustainable printing experience to a larger customer base worldwide, with localised printing options.
Canva will use the extensive global network of HP Industrial Print and HP Large Format to drive volume to HP-equipped print businesses. According to Canva the new partnership will empower millions of Canva users worldwide to seamlessly design online, create visual content, and print locally.
“This partnership will deliver huge strategic value and fuel customer growth across both organisations,” said Cliff Obrecht, Canva co-founder and chief operating officer.
Through this collaboration, the Canva community will gain expanded access to professionally printed products from HP print service providers across the globe.
HP's automation software, HP PrintOS Site Flow, will help Canva extend its reach by automating production and shipping processes for print service providers. This end-to-end solution streamlines print jobs with auto-scheduling, delivering colour consistency, security, barcode tracking, optimal productivity.
Additionally, HP's expansion of its PrintOS Suite with new features will equip the Canva Print Operations team with tools to identify, connect and manage a global SKU catalogue across HP-enabled print businesses.
"We're excited to partner with HP to accelerate the expansion of Canva Print. HP’s innovations in cloud software, quality management, and digital print have been at the centre of our Canva Print expansion,” said Jim Towle, head of Print and Partnerships, Canva. “With our teams working closely on new products and additional PSP locations, we can expand our world-class print capabilities and make it easier than ever for our global community to bring their designs to life.”
Canva has recently launched Canva Enterprise, a new subscription option to cater to the growing demand from large organisations. With businesses worldwide facing the need to be more efficient and innovative, there has been an increase in demand for visual communication platforms that allow easy collaboration and interoperability. As part of the agreement, HP will implement Canva Enterprise, empowering HP's global marketing and sales teams to securely create, collaborate, and publish visual content.
“Today's announcement with Canva is a testament to HP's commitment to partnerships of this magnitude. We've been incredibly impressed by the power of Canva Enterprise and look forward to boosting our team's design productivity by removing bottlenecks that stifle creating visual content at scale,” said Haim Levit, senior vice president and division president of HP Industrial Print.
“Combined with the latest innovations in HP software, we are leading the industry forward, allowing users to design and print more sustainably.”
“Canva is leading the way in empowering global teams to collaborate and create high-impact visual content at speed. HP PrintOS will accelerate onboarding and ramp of new print volume to our integrated network of HP Print Service Providers, delivering the widest range of print to Canva users in every corner of the world,” added Chris Knighton, global sales director, HP Industrial Software.
