CMYKHUB INSTALLS ACUITY PRIME IN WA
The country’s biggest trade print operation CMYKhub is boosting its wide format service in WA, with the installation of a new Fujifilm Acuity Prime 30 flatbed inkjet printer.

The new Acuity Prime will be installed between 10 and 15 June, with all orders taken by CMYKhub WA for rigid print after 11 June to be produced on the new flatbed. Orders placed prior to that will be produced in the company’s Victoria facility.
A spokesman at CMYK hub said the new Acuity Prime is “a fantastic addition” to its fleet of printers around Australia. It is the first Fujifilm the company has installed.
The company says that, “After months of research and testing, we decided to make our first Fujifilm purchase at CMYKhub. We made this decision based on the exceptional quality from the Ricoh Gen 5 Printheads.”
CMYKhub also said it was impressed with the dual row of printheads giving additional speed - the Acuity is capable of running 90 sqm per hour, which is 30 boards - and its compact footprint, which allowed it to fit neatly into the existing factory space at its Midvale location. Fujifilm’s local service, with technicians trained on this machine, and the automated self-cleaning to protect the device against WA's warm climate, were also factors in the decision.
The new installation will allow CMYKhub to broaden its range of next day dispatch products nationally, instead of having varied capability at each site.
The new Acuity replaces the Agfa Anapurna that had been running in WA for the past five years. CMYKhub’s WA operation has also had roll-to-roll capability for the past five years, with a Mimaki UCJV eight-colour that was part of a purchase of seven devices, providing consistency of print on roll-to-roll around Australia. The company has since installed Cannon Colorados in Melbourne to expand its roll-to-roll capacity.
