INDUSTRY AWARDS TO COME IN 5 CATEGORIES
The rebooted National Print Awards, which will be celebrated at a gala event during PacPrint next year, will cover five categories, plus the Judges’ Awards, and there are also nine major awards.
The VMA says the decision to modernise the industry’s marquee awards event was driven by feedback from industry and members, who, through comprehensive surveys and key stakeholders’ meetings, expressed a strong desire for a revitalised event that celebrates the dynamic nature of print in a modern era.
The association says a simplified approach was called for from members and sponsors to ensure all sectors are represented. It says major Awards are built to recognise diversity across of industry, as well as employer, supplier and emerging talent achievements.
The awards categories are in commercial print, which has ten awards; digital print, also with ten awards; labels and packaging, with two awards; sales and marketing, with three awards; and creative services and pre-press, also with three awards.
The Judges’ Awards will be Judges’ Choice, and Excellence in Craft. The nine Major Awards are for LIA Emerging Talent, LIA Future Leader, Graduate of the Year, Workplace Culture and Wellbeing, Environmental Sustainability, Industry Employee of the Year, Supplier of the Year, Print and Visual Media Company of the Year, and Lifetime Achievement.
The call for entries will be coming soon, and this time the entries will be direct, there will be no state-based PICA awards. VMA members will have a 50 per cent discount on entry fees and a 25 per cent discount on tickets for the Gala Awards Night event.
