JET HOSTS OPEN HOUSE TO SHOW JET IQ

Jet Technologies hosted its first Open House since Covid, with some 60 print businesses attending the launch of the company’s new Jet iQ finishing and embellishing line.

Jack Malki, director Jet Technologies said, “We all enjoy going to the big overseas shows, but it is important to put a local flavour on technology and how it will benefit the local market.

“In print you can’t stand still, if you do you are going backwards. Printers are keen to see how technology can address new markets. We are proud to launch Jet iQ, which has been a rewarding project, and will provide printers with the means to add value, and optimise productivity.”

The Jet iQ solution has been developed by Jet Technologies itself, over a two year period, and is intended to be used with a label press as an end-to-end solution. The Jet iQ range covers everything from slitting, rewinding, and inspection, to shrink sleeve processing and digital finishing equipment.

One of the innovations of the Jet iQ range is the optional inclusion of the Versatex Print Bar by Xaar. Jet Technologies says that when integrated into a finishing solution, it enables clients to add “substantial value” to their print, using the Print Bar to add digital effects such as highbuild varnish, digital foil, and a combination of gloss and highbuild varnishes in a single pass.

The JetiQ line has the capability to have several options added, including extra flexo units. The range includes the M-Line multiple label converter, the DGi-330 Evo digital die cut plotter system, and the SRI-370 label inspection slitter rewinder.

Malki said, “It is pleasing to see the number of print businesses here. We thought they would be arriving at lunchtime, but in fact as soon as the doors opened at 10am printers were coming in.”

Jet is launching its new Jet iQ range of finishing solutions for the label and packaging markets, which it will link with Screen digital label presses, for an end-to-end solution.

Designed and built in partnership with Polly Automatics, the collaboration brings together the intellectual property and expertise of both companies, positioning Jet Technologies to deliver a comprehensive suite of finishing solutions.

Together with Jet Technologies’ range of digital presses by Screen GP, Jet says the Jet iQ range will provide Australian businesses with access to what it says is a fully integrated end-to-end solution, “enhancing productivity and innovation” in the digital print space.

Jet Technologies has long been recognised for its leading digital print solutions, but until now, the company has not offered a complete end-to-end process that includes finishing. The partnership with Polly Automatics changes this, allowing Jet Technologies to close the loop, and offer a fully integrated solution.

"The results have been outstanding," said Malki. "To be able to print a highbuild varnish of around 100 microns directly onto uncoated wine stocks is an absolute game changer. No primer, no limitations and outstanding results on a wide range of locally supplied materials. Feedback from printers, as well as brand owners, has been positive.

The entire Jet iQ range will be available to Australian and New Zealand customers, addressing, says Jet, a long-standing demand for well-supported digital print and finishing solutions. Jet Technologies says it has ensured that its broad range of equipment is supported across the continent, providing customers with factory-trained service options.

Jet Technologies has been selling and servicing Screen digital inkjet label presses for 15 years. Its first customer, DS Labels, was at the Open House, as were other major names such as Southern Impact. Malki said, “DS Labels has since upgraded to a newer model, but its first Screen digital label press was sold to another printer, and is still operating at the same levels it was way back then. The engineering quality is unmatched.”
