LAMOND JOINS VMA BOARD
Colin Lamond, managing director of Perth-based Percival Print & Packaging has joined the board of the industry employers’ association VMA.
The highly regarded Lamond succeeds Stuart Fysh, managing director of The Label Factory, as director for Western Australia.
Rodney Frost, CEO of The Lamson Group, already a board member, will become the new deputy president of the VMA. He will also become the NSW representative, moving from having responsibility for SA.
Lamond, who led an MBO of Percival 18 months ago, said, “I am honoured to step onto the VMA Board and to provide a voice for Western Australia and packaging more broadly. Our industry here is dynamic, resilient, and plays a vital role in both the state and national economies. I look forward to working with my fellow board members to ensure the needs of WA are heard and advanced.”
Fysh has served as VMA board officer, honorary secretary, and deputy president, representing the Western Australian member cohort with distinction.
Holly Masters from Morgan Printing has also stepped down from her role as board member, where she focused on advancing the cause of smaller print shops, and on local government engagement.
The VMA Board is now working closely with its South Australian membership to appoint a new SA state representative, to ensure continuity and robust representation for all member cohorts across Australia.
Kevin Pidgeon, president of the VMA, expressed his deep appreciation for both outgoing board members, noting, “On behalf of the entire board and membership, I sincerely thank Stuart Fysh and Holly Masters for their commitment and service. Serving on the VMA board is a voluntary role that requires not only industry expertise, but a genuine passion for our sector’s ongoing strength and evolution.
“Stuart has been an outstanding deputy president, providing strong support throughout the VMA’s merger and helping define the association’s future strategy. Holly’s advocacy for small business printers and her connections within local government have greatly benefited our membership, and remain a strategic focus for the organisation. Their contributions have made a real difference, and their efforts and contributions are highly recognised.”
