LAMONT HOSTS FNQ SIGN CONFERENCE
A leading regional Queensland commercial and trade print firm has developed and run what it says is an innovative conference, aimed at empowering a select group of trade clients to improve their business operations.
Trade operation Lamont Print and Signs has hosted businesses from across North Queensland, for the inaugural Trade Signage Industry Business Development Conference at the Ville.
The company recruited national business leaders and innovators, to present on a range of topics including risk and supply chain management, data mining, flow and risk, leadership, branding and sustainability.
Stephen Lamont, general manager, Lamont Print and Signs, said the conference provided an opportunity for participants to learn from industry specialists on a range of topics, to inspire and empower them to advance their individual businesses.
He said, “The industry is facing major challenges from the digital world as markets move online, and it important that we look at the challenges and opportunities this brings.
“The conference provided an opportunity for participants to hear from the best minds across a range of sectors, with the aim to integrate their learnings into their businesses operations.
“The printing and signage business often flies under the radar in terms of its importance and contribution to local economies, including job creation and its role in supporting businesses with their branding and advertising,” Lamont said.
“Subjects covered were practical and important to the current challenges the industry faces where sustainability and environment as well as digital technologies must be embraced.”
The Lamont Trade Signage Industry Business Development Conference included presentations from international industry specialists across trade print, digital technology, business coaching, branding and sustainability.
Lamont said, “It is important that, as an industry, we unite and support each other to rise to the challenges and provide improved servicing and solutions to the market.
“We hope that this conference with have a compound affect where our trade print clients pass on what they have learnt to others including the business they service”.
Delegates from across Queensland also enjoyed some of the best hospitality available in Townsville, including dining at The Ville and twilight sailing to Orpheus Island. The conference is expected to become an annual event.
Lamont claims to be regional Queensland’s most modern and extensive large-scale trade printing facility. Equipment includes two new HP Latex 1500 wide-format printers for all sizes of banner printing and fence mesh production.
It also has an HP Latex R1000 Plus flatbed printer, the HP Latex 3600 (with HP full mesh kit), Kongsberg Cutting Table, HP Latex 800W (white ink) printer, Weld Master System, and a friendly team of highly experienced operators. The equipment is set in its dust free and airconditioned facility in Townsville.
