LATEST PRINT21 OUT NOW
The final Print21 magazine of the year is out and on the desks of the owners and managers of print businesses across Australia and New Zealand.
Written by the industry’s experienced print business journalists, and as the official media of the VMA, Print21 stands alone in its presentation of credible relevant information to the industry, proving indispensable in these changing times.
Packaging is becoming the major growth opportunity for print businesses of all kinds, and this issue of the nation’s favourite print business magazine leads with the cover story on Heidelberg post-press packaging solutions, including the new die cutters and folders gluers that the company manufactures to be part of its end-to-end print packaging eco system.
The packaging theme runs for several features, including a profile on printing and converting specialist Immij, which continues to expand its packaging print prowess. We have an article by industry expert Dr Sean Smyth, who writes the giant drupa expo revealed digital technologies available to capitalise on expanding opportunities in packaging. Finally in this section we take a look at the start-up business Think Ink, which is offering on-demand, short-run packaging, based on the Trimatt ColourStar AQ.
Financing equipment correctly is key to success, in fact getting new equipment and finance to suit was just the beginning of the journey with financier Finlease, for Cutting Edge.
The issue has special features on opportunities in DTG, where the opportunity for print businesses to enter the personalised t-shirts, hoodies, tote bags and other garments market remains strong, and in embellishing, with printers are being invited to bring embellishing in-house, with a trio of digital solutions now available to do the job.
The latest issue of Labels21 is part of the magazine, with a host of features offering insight and analysis into opportunities and experiences. Labels21 features new technologies from Jet Technologies with its JetiQ end-to-end print, embellish and finishing system, and from Epson which has released its newest on-demand colour inkjet label printer – the ColorWorks C8010.
We report directly from Labelexpo Americas 2024 where attendees had the chance to see a range of new conventional, hybrid and digital press technology. And presented for the first time at the show, FlexPack@Labelexpo focused on the complete production chain, from materials selection to print, laminating and pouch-making.
Supplier focus on this issue is Screen GP, whose Australian managing director Peter Scott is looking forward to 2025, with some exciting product releases highlighted.
The issue is rounded out by regular columnist Kellie Northwood, who presents the financials of the print employers’ group VMA, and by PrintNZ CEO Ruth Price who assesses the challenges and successes of the Kiwi print industry on the value of training. And with our People in Print stories to round out the issue, the latest Print21 will give all print business owners and managers the relevant, credible, substantive information they need.
