SIGN & PRINT CAREER EXPO INSPIRES NEXT GEN
Hundreds of students and educators converged on the Sign and Print Career Connections initiative, held as part of the Adelaide Careers & Employment Expo, where the Sign and Print stole the spotlight.
Led by Visual Connections in collaboration with Asga, Fespa Australia, the FPLMA, LIA, and VMA, the initiative aimed to ignite interest in the print, sign, and graphics sector among young minds.
“With such an engaging display at these Careers Expos, students get a real feel for the excitement and diversity of the visual communications sector,” expressed Tina Mavris from AusSIP, reflecting on the initiative’s impact.
Some 10,500 attendees, including students, parents, and teachers, visited the Adelaide expo, where the Sign & Print Career Connections team welcomed them. The stand garnered attention with its vibrant display, offering engaging ‘Try-A-Trade’ activities. Volunteers from AusSIP, local TAFE, and others were present to discuss industry careers.
Students were encouraged to participate in hands-on activities, including laser cutting with Trotec. and vinyl cutting and wrapping. ‘These interactive experiences not only showcased the technical aspects of the industry but also allowed students to unleash their creativity and explore their potential in this dynamic field,” remarked a spokesperson for the initiative.
Central to the initiative’s success was the comprehensive Sign & Print Career Connections booklet, providing valuable resources and information about training and employment opportunities.

“Having literally hundreds of conversations with students who are keen to find out more about industry careers has been terrific,” said Mavris, highlighting the initiative’s impact.
Supported by industry sponsors including Amari Visual Solutions, Ball & Doggett, and Fujifilm Graphic Systems, the initiative has been able to reach and inspire aspiring print professionals.
Buoyed by the overwhelming response in Adelaide, the Sign & Print Career Connections initiative is now gearing up for its next stop in Brisbane at the BCEC on 24 and 25 May.
“We are eager to continue fostering connections and empowering the next generation of talent,” expressed organisers.
The initiative’s journey doesn’t end there. Students and educators are encouraged to download the Sign & Print Career Connections brochure for more information, and to stay updated on future events.
In a world where digital technologies often dominate the conversation, initiatives like Sign & Print Career Connections are vital in showcasing the enduring relevance and boundless opportunities within traditional industry. As the initiative sets its sights on Brisbane, it continues to serve as a beacon of inspiration for young minds exploring their career pathways.
