XSYS AND MACDERMID BECOME ONE
The acquisition by Xsys of MacDermid Graphic Solutions has gone through, the two are now one company, creating the biggest operation in the flexo plates and processing sector.
The combined business has annual sales of some A$620m, with 850 staff. MacDermid, which manufactures its plates in the US, has an ANZ operation, based in Melbourne under the leadership of long-time general manager Anthony Dalleore.

Xsys manufactures printing plates, plate processing equipment, sleeves and adapters for the flexible packaging, tag and label, and corrugated post-print sectors. MacDermid manufactures flexographic printing plates and platemaking equipment. Its portfolio includes a full range of photopolymer printing products including digital, analogue, and liquid plates.

The new CEO of the combined business is Dr Alexander Unterschütz, who joins after 14 years working in senior roles at German industrial gases and engineering group Linde. Prior to Linde, he worked as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company.
