Shows like PrintEx are all about investigating new investments – but what do you do with the older equipment you no longer need? One PrintEx19 exhibitor has a solution – and visitors will find it is as easy as ABC.
The average lifespan of a digital printer, copier or scanner in an Australian business is about 3-5 years. But the world’s growing e-waste challenge, plus the escalating cost of disposal, can make getting rid of redundant equipment problematic, and expensive.
Enter Jaxon Crocker, founder and managing director of ABC Copier Solutions, who is on his way to PrintEx19 in Sydney in August to explain how he can not only take the time, stress and expense out of machine disposal with ABC’s quick-turnaround service, but reduce waste to landfill, and leave money in the owner’s pocket.
He is quick to point out that the differences between global markets provide a win-win-win opportunity – for the equipment owner, the environment and emerging economies.
“Technology moves so quickly these days that Australian businesses must have a program of constant reinvestment to stay competitive,” Crocker explains. “The majority of PrintEx visitors will be there to look for their next generation equipment – and we want to show them a better option for the disposal and recycling of their older kit.”
According to Crocker equipment owners either found themselves paying the vendor to remove older equipment – often at costs well over $1000 – or coordinating the dismantling, removal and disposal of the equipment themselves, with all the time and expense that involved.
“It just didn’t make sense – I knew there had to be a way to make better use of equipment which had reached the end of its useful life here in Australia, while reducing environmental waste and lessening the burden on owners. ABC Copier Solutions was the result.”
ABC, he explains, will remove everything from large digital production devices to small copiers and scanners, from any Australian city. They’ll be dismantled, packed into shipping containers and sent to a Singapore, where they’ll be reassembled and reconditioned for use in markets including China, Thailand and Myanmar.
“This effectively extends the life of these machines for many years and not only does it not cost the owner anything, we’ll actually pay them for the machine we take away, giving them a nice little bonus towards their PrintEx purchases,” he adds.
The service has already been adopted by some of the country’s major franchise groups, and Crocker is now keen to extend those benefits to other businesses, large and small.
ABC Copier Solutions will be on stand C01 at PrintEx, which will run from Tuesday August 13 – Friday August 16, at the Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park. Register for the show at bit.ly/RegisterforPrintEx or find out more at www.printex.org.au or www.abccopiersolutions.com.au.
