Central Queensland’s BB Print has upscaled its digital footprint as it moves into brand new custom premises at Paget's Platinum Court. Set to punch up turnarounds and further improve services for the company's valued clientele, the new site allows BB Print to expand its operation as work continues to grow.
Founded in 1992, BB Print was previously based out of Wellington Street, and now steps front and centre with the move into Mackay's main industrial precinct. The dedicated team of 20 caters to small local businesses, large companies and the mines. According to Kathy Farren-Price, BB Print partner, executing the move required a precisely coordinated effort.
“We’re very happy with the new premises. Having so much machinery meant we have had to perfectly time the move so as not to interfere with our delivery times which we proudly managed to do,” she said.

Specialist technicians were flown in from interstate to dismantle and move the heavier equipment and a floating concrete slab was installed to mimimise movement under the company's seven-tonne five-colour flagship press. The increasing call for shorter run lengths made the transition an important step for the company, while also centralising the business for many of its high-profile and long-standing customers.
Gary Bye, BB Print partner, explains the new site is an excellent base for the company.
"Not only can we service Paget but our sales team can continue to service all areas of Mackay and the district. We also concentrate on making printing easier by coming to the customer which in turn frees their time up," he says.
To coincide with the extra floor-space brought on by the move, BB Print has recently added the latest in digital printing equipment to its predominately offset arsenal.
As well as its new digital firepower, Bye is also firmly focused on the company's green credentials. Last year BB Print picked up Queensland's Environmental Management Award for Printing, and holds the only level 2 Sustainable Green Print accreditation north of the Sunshine Coast.
