Printers love swatch books and samples of new paper, different coatings and special effects. Now they can get close to the real thing over the internet with the new Allkotes App.
In the same week that Digital Logic released its Printid App for the marketing industry, comes a another arch in the bridge between printing and the digisphere. Allkotes, the print finishing company, has produced what it claims is the first print finishing app in the world.
Taking the challenge of translating the ‘touchy-feely’ experience of print coatings and laminations into virtual reality, the Allkotes App empowers print reps with the ability to flick through the whole range of coatings available.
According to Darren Delaney, business development director, Allkotes, they wanted to help their customers lift the quality of service to ‘their’ customers. “Our thought process was to provide a tool that is user friendly for everyone that has an iPhone or iPad.
“The benefits are obvious. Having an interactive tool that is always at your fingertips and by your side everywhere you go. Bundling our product range into your hand-held device makes for light work and once your customer applies the App, they too have the power to explore the realms of possibilities.”
The App is free and can be downloaded from the App store. Allkotes is certain it will become an essential part of every sales rep’s arsenal in the battle for printing sales.
“What if you’re with your client and cleverly hours earlier you downloaded the Allkotes App. Your client is turning to you for help, experience and guidance with their printed project. What do you do?” asks Delaney.
“The Allkotes App comes to the rescue with our full product range and written description there to help you. You put your client’s mind at rest knowing they are in good hands.”
The App lists all the Allkotes products under nine categories with additional information on their use and suitability. The initial Allkotes App release is for iPhones and iPad but the Android version is ready to go.
“We hope you enjoy our new APP and that it opens new windows of opportunities for our industry to grow and be world competitive,” said Delaney. "We would like to thank Stephen Molloy author of How Apps are changing the World for his expert insight and guidance."
