Canon Australia says its next-gen multifunctional imageRUNNER Series will drive digital transformation for Australia businesses.

The four colour A3 multifunctional devices (imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5535i, imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5540i, imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5550i, imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5560i) enhance productivity through intelligent document workflows, provide an intuitive user experience and address the total cost of print across an organisation, according to a statement from Canon.

“These multifunctional devices will boost efficiency and help deliver on digital transformation strategies of Australian businesses," said Gavin Gomes, newly appointed director for Canon Business Services.

Peter Brittliff, senior manager-product at Canon, said the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5500i Series is designed to deliver maximum return on investment to businesses by minimising maintenance and downtime while boosting productivity and profitability. “The value of print for our customers lies in its ability to create, manage and share documents and information in a secure manner, and seamlessly across an organisation. The new range of devices come with the new shared platform to reduce administration, and ensure employees have the technology they need to work digitally and efficiently."

In its press release, Canon added: Rapid scanning captures paper-based data while the intelligent devices come with the ability to scan and convert documents to Searchable PDF, Microsoft® Word, and Microsoft® PowerPoint files.  A single-pass duplexing document feeder that holds up to 150 originals ensures seamless digitisation for the most document heavy businesses.

Universal Login Manager software provides a unique combination of user-based authentication, personalisation function control and gives total output visibility, helping to significantly reduce the overall cost of the document production process. The next generation devices are easily integrated with optional uniFLOW software, Canon’s comprehensive and scalable solution software platform for device, output management and smart scanning solutions for increased control.

Seamless integration with business applications and cloud connectivity ensure that the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5500i Series is compatible with existing business systems to provide mobility.

Canon’s expertise and state-of-the-art imaging technologies deliver consistently striking quality. V2 (Vivid & Vibrant) imaging technology ensures outstanding colour quality output on a wide range of media, even at large volumes.

A huge paper capacity of 6,350 minimises time between replenishment while status notifications monitor performance at all times. The new imageRUNNER ADVANCE’s smart, adaptive technology ensures software will always be up to date for a consistently optimised performance.

Canon’s device management tools offer centralised control across entire fleets.  Devices can be updated, inactive units can be remotely turned off, meter readings can be captured, and address books and printer drivers can be managed accordingly.

Gomes said that “combined with Canon’s Managed Document Services this proactive management and continual optimisation of print infrastructure and related business processes saves money, increases efficiency, productivity and profitability."

The imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5500i Series will be available in Australia from 1 August 2016.
