South Australian packaging printer Poly Products says new Flexo Wash FW 2500M technology installed at its plant in Regency Park, Adelaide will result in significant savings.

Steve Renfrey of Poly says the Flexo Wash FW - supplied by local distributor Jet Technologies - will clean and manage the condition and performance of the company’s anilox library.

Previously, Poly Products cleaned anilox rolls by hand. Renfrey says a major benefit of the FW 2500M was that a number of the company’s rollers - which had been earmarked for replacement because they were no longer delivering the amount of ink required - are now salvageable and being brought back into production.

"This has given them an extended working life, and represents a significant saving of more than 3,000 Euros per new anilox roll," he said.

"All flexo printers, whether using water-based, solvent-based or UV inks, should have a unit like this if they are serious about delivering consistent results to their clients. This dramatically helps to minimize the need for color adjustments on repeat runs, which is a common factor with poor cleaning and management of anilox rolls."

Jet Technologies sales manager Wes Scott added: "We were confident that the FW 2500M would be the perfect fit for Poly Products as it has proven to be a safe and effective way of cleaning anilox rolls for many of our customers over the years."
