The PIAA's Future Print program has teamed up with TAFE South Australia to offer a number of short courses aimed at improving the fundamental skills of small businesses.
The first three online courses will cover:
Small Business Financial Management – focus on determining resource requirements, planning finances and managing finances (3 accredited units to be undertaken).
Small Business Core Management – broader focus on 4 key management tasks of small business covering legal & risk management requirements, planning, finance, and marketing (4 accredited units to be undertaken).
Small Business Marketing – focus on marketing ‘small business’, implementing customer service strategies, and establishing networks (3 accredited units to be undertaken).
Each short course is delivered fully online, and should take between 3-5 months to complete, including assessments. The courses are nationally recognised units of competency, and participants will be provided with a formal Statement of Attainment under the national training system on successful completion.
As with all Future Print subsidized training programs, the training costs for each course depends on the business size. For a business employing less than 100 staff, the course costs range from just $291 to $485 per person. Any remaining costs are covered by the Commonwealth Government.
In order to take advantage of this offer, any new business in the project will need to complete a brief Future Print Business Review and Workforce Development Plan.
Proposed candidates will also need to have a minimum Certificate 3 qualification e.g. trade certificate to qualify for the subsidized training.
The Future Print Transformation Project has been now running for two years and will finish at the end of May, 2017. To date, the program has engaged with nearly 500 businesses and provided training for 400 people. The project has reinforced the fact that small business operators prefer short, accessible courses that have an immediate impact on their company.
Please contact a Future Print Advisor at the Victorian or Queensland office of the Printing Industries, or email info@futureprint.org.au for further information on course details and costs.
Information on additional courses will be released in coming weeks.
