Genr8 into new custom markets with Roland DG

Hunter-based business Genr8 Printing is achieving new revenue streams with its installation of a Roland DG  VersaUV LEF-300 custom inkjet printer, enabling it to print onto a variety of substrates.

The company says the new printer allows it to print to a wide range of surfaces and substrates including glass, acrylic, leather, and tiles. Owner of the business Yianni Moratidis said, "You name it, we can print on it."

Moratidis bought the VersaUV when he decided to further expand the company’s product range. Already specialising in the development of a wide range of premium print products for local businesses in the Greater Hunter region of NSW, he was keen to give customers "a little bit of something extra". A recent example included printing directly from the LEF-300 onto tiles to create a custom look for a client’s bar area.

He said he has found the VersaUV easy to use with a quick turnaround on jobs, and has found that his customers can “get what they want, when they want”.

Since installing the LEF-300, Genr8 has an “added revenue stream”, with Moratidis noting, "Investing in a Roland product is investing in a great partnership. From the initial purchase, to the installation, to the service… has been second-to-none."

Based in Wallsend, outside Newcastle, Genr8 Printing designs and prints all its products in-house, including small format jobs ranging from business cards and flyers to larger print jobs such as posters and wallpaper.

Established in 2008 as Genr8 Entertainment, owner Yianni Moratidis started Genr8 Printing when he saw an opportunity to offer print solutions to his existing customer base.
