Diversified marketing services group IVE has appointed WPP exec Rob Draper as its first chief marketing officer, as the $695m business looks to expand its regional and global presence.

Geoff Selig, executive chairman at IVE says, “The IVE Group has been listed on the ASX for three years, so with growing awareness and audience there is a requirement to ensure that we communicate our market leading value proposition effectively to our key stakeholders. This role will support the core messaging of what is our genuinely vertically integrated marketing and communications offer”.

Draper will take up the role in February. He joins after seven years at WPP, the world's biggest advertising agency. During this time he served as managing director of various WPP operating companies (including Barrows Asia Pacific and Geometry Global Australia) before taking a head office role as the WPP AUNZ Group Business Director and CEO of The Store.

He says, ““I can’t wait to be involved in the next chapter of the Group's success story. It has a strong mix of smart people and complimentary services that are working well together. This combined with the scale and market leading offer continues to add significant value to a client’s marketing and communications activities across the board. Being able to help IVE and its clients unlock the full potential of the Group’s powerful offering as part of the senior leadership team is something that I could not turn down”.

Selig says, "Draper is the perfect fit for us given his extensive senior level agency experience and background in retail, shopper, production and digitally led companies. There is an important business development and leadership aspect to the role which plays into his core strengths too. We are excited to have someone with his energy and expertise joining us at such a senior level.”

IVE currently operates in multiple territories, employing some 1,800 people across its operations in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong and Singapore. The group services all major industry sectors, including financial services, publishing, retail, healthcare, communications, property, clubs and associations, not-for-profit, utilities, manufacturing, education and government.
