Melbourne digital print business STS Creative Printing has closed its doors after 37 years and gone into liquidation, with about 20 staff members “frog marched” out of the business on Friday.
The owners of the Carrum Downs digital and screen printing business met earlier on Friday and decided to wind up the company and appoint Adrian Hunter and Robyn Erskine as joint liquidators. Staff members were informed of the decision later in the day.
The STS Creative Printing website has now been shut down and director Darren Moss has been unavailable for comment but the company’s Facebook account is still open.
“I can’t imagine the state of mind from the staff that were forced to endure your surprise liquidation on Friday 04/05/2018,” Latisha Fraser posted on STS Creative's Facebook page. “You gave your long serving employees no notice, no formal information about redundancy procedures; not even eye contact as they were frog marched out of your factory. Shame on you Darren and Jodie Moss and Trevor Stanley, I can’t imagine how you’d treat your enemies if this is how you treat your long serving staff.”
Since 1981, STS Creative Printing has specialised in point of sale and visual merchandising material, including large format posters as well as show cards, dump bins, standees, window decals, metal and plastic signage, free standing displays, sleeves and bollards, dump bins, a-frames and floor graphics.
The liquidators are expected to announce a creditors’ meeting shortly.
