Rawson Print, Who Print, Digitalpress, AAB, and Impact International were the big winners at the NSW Printing Industry Creativity Awards (PICAs) last night.
All five received multiple golds at a sparkling awards ceremony in Sydney's Pullman hotel, with 150 printers at the event, which was effectively a renewal of the popular PICAs.
The five, and all gold winners from the night – along with those winning gold from all states - will now go forward to the National Print Awards, which will culminate in awards dinner where the national winners will be announced. That is slated for 15 August, the Thursday evening of PrintEx, also in Sydney.
All gold winners thanked the PIAA for producing the awards. The association's finance manager Matt Schembri opened the evening, noting that the number and level of entries was the highest ever. Schembri thanked sponsors Media Super, Epson, and Ball & Doggett.
The Media Super speaker told the audience that industry super funds were under attack from the government, and that an attack on industry super funds were an attack on the industry as a whole. He said that Media Super's 2018-19 figures would show it was a top performing fund.
NSW was the second state ceremony, SA was last week, next week it is Victoria's turn 10 July, to be followed by West Australia on 13 July and Queensland 24 July. Click here for full details, and to book tickets.
