Graphic products manufacturer Orafol has launched a major expansion in Australia, acquiring distribution businesses in Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide and opening a new head office and distribution centre on the Gold Coast in Queensland.

The German-based company will retain a total of 42 staff members currently employed at Artmart in Blackburn North, Melbourne, Major Tom at Brompton in Adelaide and Signmaker Supplies at Balcatta in Perth, and plans to expand each the businesses with more hirings.

“We’ve enjoyed a long-term relationship with each of these companies over the years and as of yesterday they will now fall under the Orafol Australia banner,” says Geoff Brummer, managing director of Orafol Australia. “We are confident that this step will greatly increase market presence, customer service, and customer satisfaction.”

Brummer says the graphic products, reflective materials and adhesive tapes manufacturer is on the lookout for similar acquisitions. “Watch this space,” he says. “Orafol Australia will continue to refine and grow its current strategy and will act as full-range-supplier in the Australian market.”

Orafol is also opening a new 4000m² purpose-built Australian head office and distribution centre (pictured, above) on the Gold Coast, Queensland.

“We’ll be moving in there in about two weeks’ time,” says Brummer. “Customers will be able to experience our new facilities, which will include a new showroom and will stock the full range of reflective and graphics products.”

The Orafol Group, headquartered in Oranienburg, Germany, is a leading manufacturer of graphic products and has evolved into a global player with manufacturing and distribution units around the world.

Orafol has supplied into Australia for over 25 years. Its local competitors include 3M and Avery Products.

“The focus on the Australian market is part of a consistent strategy aimed at dynamic growth, innovative products, and a dedication to customer needs; which in turn has become the basis of Orafol’s continued success,” says Dr. Holger Loclair, managing director of Orafol Europe GmbH. “We will continue to look for opportunities to increase our global presence either through acquisition or expansion.”
