Australian packaging group Orora has opened a new 4200 sq.m. corrugated packaging and cold storage facility at Bundaberg in Queensland.
ASX-listed Orora Group, which was spun off from packaging giant Amcor in 2013, says the new factory - built in partnership with Australia’s largest refrigerated logistics provider AHG - is an investment in Queensland’s horticultural rich heartland and will provide 25 new jobs.
"Orora will continue to focus on its core strength, providing cost-effective, fit-for-purpose, corrugated cartons for the Bundaberg fruit and produce region and through its strategic partnership with AHG, customers will be provided with comprehensive logistics infrastructure that will deliver corrugated cartons in a timely manner," said Andrew Russo, GM, sales and marketing, Orora Fibre Packaging.
“In addition, the new facility will provide significant job opportunities, particularly during peak season," said Orora CEO Nigel Garrard. "Bundaberg is a diverse and growing region, the food bowl for Northern Australia. The new facility, along with Orora and AHG’s strategic partnership, will enhance the ability to tailor solutions for growers that have specific supply chain requirements.”
Orora Limited is headquartered in Melbourne and employs 5,600 people across 124 sites in seven countries, supplying a range of fibre, metal and glass packaging solutions, as well as packaging-related services including distribution and recycling.
