The redesigned super-wide Kongsberg C table, which can work with materials up to ten feet square, was an early crowd pleaser on the Esko stand at day one of PacPrint.
"It's really driven by the Esko front end," says Scott Thompson, lead management & inside sales, Esko, who accepted the Print21 award at PacPrint 2017.
"The Kongsberg streamlines all of our pre-press prior to the table and it's those tools that help us to stand out from a lot of our competitors. We call it our production model. It's a multifunction super-wide digital finisher designed for signage, display and packaging applications."
Redesigned in 2016, the Kongsberg C Table is a complete finishing system for large and diverse jobs, offering 24/7 production.
The largest Kongsberg C model can work with materials up to 126” wide x 126” long. Covering more than ten feet across the table, a rigid, carbon-composite traverse eliminates variances due to bending.
Thompson says that for a machine so large, the Kongsberg C is remarkably easy to use - from a new, simple interface to the ease of replacing interchangeable tools on the table, helping to reduce operator error. The operator workstation mounts on any corner of the machine. Unlike other super-wide finishers, the Kongsberg C does not decelerate with demanding materials, handling the most complex jobs without sacrificing quality or throughput.
