PrintEx News: Imagination invests in Konica Minolta B2 inkjet
Imagination Graphics is making its biggest ever investment, with a new Konica Minolta AccurioJet KM-1 B2 UV sheetfed inkjet press set to take the company into new markets when it arrives in a couple of months time.
The new AccurioJet KM-1 going into Imagination's Marrickville production centre will be the first in NSW, the third in Australia, and the 100th to be installed around the world.
Imagination owner Emmanuel Buhagiar told Print21 that, "We have been growing consistently, and see the KM-1 as the way to move forward and take us to the next level. It will enable us to enter new markets, and to enhance our service to our existing clients."
Buhagiar, known for his business diligence, said, "We knew that B2 digital was the way to go. We took a thorough analysis of the market, and for us the KM-1 met our requirements. We needed a robust printer with consistently high quality. It will print off-the-shelf offset stocks, and has easy maintenance."
The new KM-1 will help drive Imagination's growth, Buhagiar said, "We will be looking to creative agencies to provide them with a variety of print solutions on demand, the likes of short-run posters, presentation folders, packaging and other print products now possible."
Imagination Graphics is a 22 year old business with 16 staff, which in the last few years has grown organically and through acquisition, buying Staas Printing and Lindwall and Ward. It runs both offset and digital.
It was the winner of the Konica Minolta National Specialised Print Awards. The company has partnered with Konica Minolta for a decade. Buhagiar said, “Imagination Graphics has worked with Konica Minolta for more than 10 years, and every time we have upgraded our equipment we have seen business growth right up to our last investment, which was the AccurioPress C6100 and C1085. We expect the KM-1 to bring the same benefit.”
