South Australia has kicked off this year’s Printing Industry Creativity Awards (PICAs) in style, with a glitzy evening at Adelaide’s Hackney Hotel and Conference Centre.

The booked-out event saw 50 print professionals gather to celebrate the achievements of all 20 medallists, as well as the SA finalist for the Media Super Young Executive of the Year Award: Daniel Brooks, of Visualcom.

Andrew Macaulay, CEO PIAA, hailed the event as a fantastic night for print.

“We were so pleased to see the engagement from the South Australian industry, and the enthusiasm from the members who’ve entered into the PICAs programme,” he said.

Macaulay was particularly proud of the quality of entries, with the seven gold-medal winners moving on to the National Print Awards (NPAs) to be held on the Thursday evening of PrintEx at Waterview Bicentennial Park, Sydney.

“I was blown away. There will be a good showing from South Australia at the NPAs as a consequence,” said Macaulay.
