Peter Woods, director of Intergraphic Technologies, will join Starleaton Digital Solutions, following the takeover of the Melbourne-based former agent for Zund.

The acquisition of the Swiss-made digital wide format cutter agency is part of an aggressive build-up by SDS in recent times as it expands its presence in the equipment side of the sector. It follows the acquisition of Ian Cleary’s Adkotes in September.

According to Ben Eaton, the Zund agency is a very good fit for SDS. “We are very pleased to have Peter joining the team and also proud to have secured the agency for such a strong brand as Zund. Our history is forged in premium European finishing solutions and the Zund brand strengthens this position for us.”

“Following discussions with Ben Eaton and having gained approval from Zund, it was clear that the acquisition by Starleaton was the right move, not only for myself but also for the brands that Intergraphic have represented in Australia” said Peter Wood. “Starleaton’s Australia-wide footprint brings a new level of support to our existing and new customers.”

SDS has been investing in upgrading its demonstration facilities around the country as it continues to add new print and finishing solutions to its portfolio and brings the focus back on training with the introduction of finishing boot camps this year. Zund demonstration equipment will start to arrive early in 2015.

Both Starleaton and Zund have confirmed that all support and warranty conditions for all existing Zund cutting lines will be honoured.
