The printing industry has more people coming and going than an airport. Here is this week's look at people moving, leaving and starting.

Bug brings Bruce to Graph-Pak

Printing is infectious and Bruce Hughes is not afraid to admit that he's got the bug.

Hughes, (pictured) who has been a part of the printing industry for 35 years, recently joined Graph-Pak to take on the role of sales.

"I was attracted to the role because there is a diversification of agencies at Graph-Pak," he said. "There's sheetfed, postpress, label, commercial web and newspaper agencies. It's a fantastitc cross section."

For the last two years, Hughes has been focused solely on selling print at Halkeas Printing, but he sees his true calling as equipment sales. "My field is equipment and this was a great opportunity to focus in that area," he said.

Hughes credits the late George Williams for fuelling his on-going interest in printing. "George and I worked together at a number of companies along with being members of the LIA. George had a real affinity for the printing industry," he said. "That affinity was infectious."

In the role, Hughes joins Michael Tims, responsible for sales throughout NSW and Canberra, along with continuing Graph-Pak's reputation. "Judging from the customers I have spoken to so far, Graph-Pak is well respected and has a high knowledge of equipment," he says.

"I intend on staying in this role for the long-term and build upon the agencies, sales and customer relationships. That's really the three keys to the success of a company like Graph-Pak."

Tom Ralph, managing director of Graph-Pak welcomed Hughes on board. “Bruce’s experience and expertise further compliment our existing team at Graph-Pak and enhances our opportunities in the future,” he said.
