Heidelberg UK will throw open the doors of its national showroom in Brentford from 27-28 March, for what it has dubbed its 2020 Vision event. Scheduled slap-bang in the middle of the newly revitalised Ipex 2014, held across town at the London ExCeL Centre, Heidelberg’s spring open house will showcase machinery demonstrations, exhibits and seminars examining the future of print in an increasingly multi-media environment.
According to Gerard Heanue, Heidelberg UK managing director, the event will explore how competition with alternative media will affect the printing industry by the year 2020. Seminars will delve into ongoing changes to the shape and structure of the industry and offer insights into improving efficiency and appeal to ensure that printers remain part of that future. As with all things, timing is everything.

“The timing of the 2020 Vision open house during Ipex will enable visitors to attend both events and maximise their visit to London. Heidelberg’s landmark event at our national showroom in March will provide a forum where UK printers can look at some of the challenges and opportunities they will face as we head towards the next decade,” said Heanue.
Heidelberg will outline its take on LE-UV, as well as developments in its Prinect workflow portfolio and there will be spotlight on the power of Polar PACE automation. Joining the conversation will be representatives from paper, MIS, finance, print buyers and other suppliers, including Morgana, Sappi, Gallus, Tharstern, Two Sides, Technotrans, HHS, IST, Print Financial Services and Winters.
If that’s not enough, a marquee will be set up across from the showroom serving up German nosh from noon, bring a touch of Heidelberg to Brentford.
