Top 7 Day Print News Clicks: Paper fall, QLM, Canva
The highest number of clicks on the Print21 industry news website in the last seven days went to the paper imports plunging news, our report of the latest figures by IndustryEdge, which revealed the full horror of the Covid crisis.

The report showed that in April imports of coated mechanical stock used in commercial printing were down by 29.4 per cent, with uncoated mechanical down by 19.4 per cent. Newsprint imports fared even worse, down by 36.1 per cent compared to the same period last year, as News and ACM stopped the presses for 300 regional and community newspapers. Tissue paper imports rose by 300 per cent though, as sections of the nation went on a panic buying spree of toilet paper.
The second-highest rated story of the week was the exclusive Print21 report of the new factory about to be opened by QLM Label Makers in Brisbane, one that is treble the size of its previous facility, and which houses some of the world's most advanced flexo press technology.
Coming in at third place was the Print21 report on the soar-away success of Australian online graphic design portal Canva, which is now worth, on paper at least, a staggering $8.6bn, just seven years after it was established by a then 26-year-old Melanie Perkins and two friends in Melbourne.
