Opportunities coming from sustainability, brand protection, digitisation of packaging, personalisation, and consumer engagement through AR, will be among the hot topics explored at the LIVE forum.
Event curator and publisher of Print21 and PKN Lindy Hughson said, “LIVE is going to be a value-packed day for print business owners and managers. It presents them with the opportunity to hear from the people who are buying and driving packaging print, and to engage directly with them.”
The audience of delegates already registered comprises a mix of brand and pack designers, brand owners, FMCG retailers, various types of packaging printers, label printers and commercial printers looking at packaging.
The full day event running at Monkey Baa Theatre in Darling Harbour kicks off with a welcome at 8.45am, then at 9am with an overview of current design directions for designers and printers, with speakers from three companies at the forefront of the industry: Hulsbosch, Schawk, and Harcus Design.
The second session starting at 11am focuses on the role printed packaging takes in driving consumer engagement. Personalised beverage solutions suppliers Brewtopia/Labelmakers; major brand owner Campbell Arnott's; and augmented reality developer Dreemar will be presenting, with the latter demonstrating an on-the-day AR experience and app developed especially for the LIVE event in collaboration with Campbell Arnott's.

The sustainability session, the fourth of the day, will have Brooke Donnelly, CEO of Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO), presenting on the Australian packaging industry's journey towards meeting the 2025 National Packaging Targets.
That will be followed by a sustainability panel session in Q&A format, with Donnelly joining industry leaders including Jack Malki, CEO, Jet Technologies; David Martin, CEO Spicers; and award-winning print and packaging pioneers Fred Soar, managing director of Soar Print, and Aleks Lajovic, managing director of Impact International.

The final session of the day features two next generation print leaders who are taking their businesses into packaging: Matt Ellis of Luminar, and Aaron Lusch of Platypus Print Packaging.
