Akira Yoshida has been appointed managing director of Canon Oceania, and will take up the position when current MD Yusuke Mizoguchi leaves for Europe in April.
Yusuke Mizoguchi, managing director of Canon Oceania, will begin a new role at Canon Europe within the next two months, and Akira Yoshida, general manager of laser printing at Canon's headquarters in Japan, will move to Australia to take over his position. Yoshida has more than 20 years' experience at Canon, and has worked in the USA and Canada. "I look forward to commencing my new role in Australia, and am eager to meet our talented employees and work with our valued customers and partners," he said. "I am excited to continue the magnificent work of Mr Mizoguchi in this region."
Mizoguchi, who served as managing director for three years, said he was leaving the company in good hands. "My journey here has been very rewarding and I have met and worked alongside many fantastic people. As I hand the reins over to Mr Yoshida, Canon will continue our focus on delivering on our commitments to Canon Oceania customers, consumers, partners and employees, who are at the heart of everything we do," he said.
Hinder and Peck leave Fujifilm
As part of a reorganisation of Fujfilm’s Graphic Systems, high profile general manager, Warren Hinder and marketing manager, Steve Peck are leaving the business.
The two well-known industry identities will finish up this month with CEO Tyler Takahasi, CEO Fujifilm reportedly taking on the role of general manager for the time being.
Both industry professionals declared their departure to be amicable and both are anticipating moving towards new horizons in the future. Hinder is recognised as one of the most knowledgeable printing plate experts in the industry. He’s been selling Fujifilm products in Australia for 35 years before stepping up to the general managers role, 18 months ago.
Steve Peck joined Fujifilm from Kodak where he was primarily responsible for the NexPress. Prior to that he ran his own business, Hyphen Asia Pacific before joining Heidelberg. He is now looking to leverage his marketing expertise to benefit printers generally.
