High profile wide format identity Jason Hay (pictured) has found a new home with Japanese company Mimaki after leaving Spicers where he was closely associated with the brand for five years.

One of the most respected industry professionals with a long career that includes stints with Océ and Fujifilm as well as Spicers, Hay is now the National Sales Manager at Mimaki Australia. He was notably the driving force in the development of Avon Graphics wide format division, which is one of the largest Mimaki customers installs in the world.

Mystery surrounds departure of Fujifilm’s Dave Marshall

Long-term Fujifilm Australia managing director Dave Marshall is reportedly leaving the company after 18 years.

A staff memo sent out last month by Fujifilm Australia CEO Tyler Yanase and obtained by industry website Photo Counter announced:

The purpose of this email is to advise all staff members that Dave Marshall will no longer be with the business effective early October, 2017. He will not be in the office or dealing directly with our customers.

A spokesperson for the company contacted in Sydney said she was “unable to confirm any of those details.”
