Labelmakers into digital flexibles with HP Indigo 20000

Labelmakers Group is investing in digital technology for the flexibles and linerless market with the imminent commissioning of an HP Indigo 20000 digital press, currently being installed at its Sydney facility.

The HP Indigo 20000 – supplied by Currie Group and delivered today – is located at Labelmakers’ Digital Flexibles and Linerless Division in NSW, a facility added in August last year following the group’s acquisition of Le Mac, the largest linerless labels producer in Australia.

Labelmakers says the new press will further strengthen its suite of digital solutions across the group, delivering “unsurpassed quality to the ever-growing Australian packaging industry”.

The HP Indigo 20000 is recognised, Labelmakers says, as the world’s leading digital printing technology for flexible packaging including shrink sleeves, linerless food wrap labels, wrap-around beverage labels, and other polypropylene labels.

Labelmakers says “Digital printing opens a new realm of possibilities with regards to mass customisation, short-run seasonal campaigns and product range extensions, so we look forward to showcasing the tremendous print and marketing capabilities with our brand partners.”

Daws confirmed this is the sixth HP Indigo 20000 press to be installed in Australia. “This press has changed the landscape in the flexible packaging market,” he said. “We are proud of our long-standing and strong partnership with Labelmakers. The HP Indigo 20000 digital press is a 762mm wide, roll-to-roll solution producing digital applications, including flexible packaging, labels, and shrink sleeves. It prints at 42 metres a minute, on media thickness from 10-250 microns.
