Pakko takes out major Telstra award
Custom box making and printing business Pakko has won the national 2022 Telstra Best of Business Progressing Australia Award.
The award recognises owner Nina Nguyen's commitment to creating a blueprint for a manufacturing renaissance in Australia. The judges said that Pakko recognised a lack of local manufacturing in its industry in Australia was making it difficult for businesses to grow.
Commenting on the win, Nguyen said, "I am so proud to represent and be a part of the Australian manufacturing industry, print and packaging. Winning the National Telstra Award for Progessing Australia is a testament to the commitment and dedication of our team at Pakko.
"Throughout our packaging journey, we have met every challenge head on using innovation to bring new ideas to elevate Australian made packaging."
The Brisbane-based company is only five years old, and was founded when Nguyen had the idea to make moisture resistant and sturdy boxes to help her parents on their vegetable farm.
She said, "We believe in Australian made and we have the capabilities, talent and the innovation to be global leaders. Winning this award will keep us elevated to continuing and developing packaging that will exceed expectations while always suprising and delighting our customers, because we know a box isn't just a box."
