Annual Fespa barbie back, attracts 60 printers

The easing of Covid restrictions in Victoria saw the annual Fespa Australia BBQ take place again, with some 60 printers turning out for some top tucker and a beer.

“It was a fantastic evening,” said Nigel Davies, president Fespa Australia “and it was especially great to see each other again, and meet with people from all parts of the industry, to hear their news and share their stories.”

Sponsored by Esko, HVG Graphics, Spicers, Kissel + Wolf, Cactus Imaging and Mulford Plastics, the evening offered members a long-awaited chance to catch up for a drink, and enjoy a gourmet BBQ spread. The event was held at the Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club in Melbourne.

Davies said, “Life-long friendships start at these events, and it is especially rewarding that members of such a diverse community can share many things in common.”

Fespa members have had a roller coaster year of either feast or famine, depending on which sectors they work in. Those in events, exhibitions, conferences, outdoor print, and in Victoria retail, have had a difficult 12 months. Others have seen the printers running flat out, as they have ridden the back of a Covid demand for floor graphics and wall graphics in particular.
