Epson takes out Pinnacle treble
Epson SureColor printers took out three Printing United Alliance 2021 Pinnacle Product Awards, with the SureColor F-Series dye-sublimation printer line receiving the award for the seventh consecutive year.
In addiiton to the SureColor F10070 in the Roll-to-Roll Dye-Sublimation on Textile ($50K-$100K), category, award winners included the SureColor V7000 in the UV/Latex Flatbed (Under $100K) category, and the SureColor F6370 in the Roll-to-Roll Dye-Sublimation on Metal category.
The Pinnacle Product Award competition evaluates products that are, or will be, available for sale this year. A panel of judges from across the printing industry evaluated 160 entries in 58 categories. Output devices are judged based on reports generated by measuring colour charts, and then compared to industry specifications.
“This is the only competition I know of that reports on the percentage of Adobe RGB a printer can hit,” said Ray Weiss, director of Digital Print Programs, Printing United Alliance. “Some of the categories were decided by tenths of a point so fierce was the competition this year. The Pinnacle Product Award competition represents the best of the best among commercial hardware. Congratulations to Epson on its three wins.”
The Epson SureColor V7000 prints in 10-colour UltraChrome UV Ink and is Epson’s first UV flatbed printer, and can print on a variety of rigid substrates up to 7.5cm thick.
The SureColor F10070 is a 76-inch industrial-dye sublimation printer has four 4.7-inch PrecisionCore printheads and a new hot-swappable ink system. It delivers continuous roll-to-roll performance at production speeds up to 250 sqm an hour.
Winning for the third year in a row, the SureColor F6370 44-inch dye-sublimation printer offers print speeds up to 63 sqm an hour.
