Mint, Grand & Cactus take out OMA Awards
Cactus Imaging, Mint Imaging and Grand Print Services all took out awards at the Outdoor Media Association’s (OMA) first Creative Collection competition for 2021.
The competition saw the most entries in two years, with them vying for victory in six categories, as outdoor media makes a comeback after a disastrous 12 months, which saw spending on outdoor media plummet by half as Covid kept commuters at home.
Cactus Imaging won in the Big, Bold and Bright for its Subway Footlong Fame, with Grand Print Services receiving an honourable mention in the same category for its Mardi Gras Parade job.
Mint Imaging and Blow Up Imaging won in the Out of Home for Good category for the Stop it at the Start poster campaign, which raises the issue of domestic violence.
The judges praised the calibre of all entries, in particular, those which performed well across multiple formats. The large number of entries also demonstrated that brands are capitalising on returning audiences in city centres and high consumer confidence.
OMA CEO Charmaine Moldrich said: “The OMA’s Q1 2021 Creative Collection judging was highly contentious, and for good reason. We are seeing advertisers return to our channel with vigour, and in the best possible way - with big, bold creative, and clever messages.”
