Trade print operation Hero Print ordered the G3 L-2500 cutter, which was one of the cutters on display, sharing the stand with an S3 cutter.

The G3 series is used across a variety of different materials, it allows you to put your standard board sizes and have the cutting completed in one pass. The S3 is used more for stickers and those types of jobs where it's primarily roll media.

Hawkins said, “In some businesses, you might see them both, where they use the G3 to do their routine work, or their rigid material work, and then they have an S3 to do their decals and stickers.”

According to Hawkins, it is “Precision, precision, precision” that sets the Zünd cutters apart, he said, “You get that, and you get the speed, the ability to be able to drive the knife around the bed at the right height to make sure you get the best possible result.

“Because of the software, it is easy to get a new operator into operating, because a lot of it is locked down so that the steps are fairly intuitive."

Hawkins also highlighted the quality of Swiss engineering, saying, “Your investment is a long term investment. Zünd is providing customers with equipment operating for 15 years plus. So, they're really getting good value out of it.”
