PACPRINT TO TACKLE SIGNAGE COMPLIANCE
PacPrint 2025 is set to host an essential Signage Panel as part of its Seminar Forum, tackling one of the most critical issues in the signage industry – licensing compliance for sign installers.
Titled Sign Installers – Make Sure You’re Properly Licensed, PacPrint says this ‘expert-led’ discussion will offer invaluable insights into the legal and operational requirements for signage professionals.
With licensing requirements varying from state to state across Australia, staying compliant can be a complex challenge. However, failure to adhere to proper licensing regulations can lead to severe financial penalties, legal consequences, and even jail time.
To ensure businesses are fully informed, the Australian Sign & Graphics Association (Asga) has assembled a high level panel of industry experts to address this crucial issue.
Expert panellists include Mick Harrold, president, Asga; Damian Nielsen, vice president / QLD chair, Asga; and Charl Taylor, director, CI-Advantage.
“Signage licensing laws are strict, and they differ across states, which makes it difficult for businesses to always know if they are compliant,” said Mick Harrold, Asga president.
“It’s absolutely vital for anyone installing signage, or overseeing installation, to have the correct license to operate. Non-compliance doesn’t just put businesses at risk - it can personally impact individuals with serious legal consequences.”
To clarify requirements, this panel will present the key insights from Asga’s Building Licensing Webinar, featuring expert commentary from Charl Taylor. The session will provide practical guidance on state-by-state licensing variations, answer commonly asked questions, and give attendees the knowledge they need to protect their businesses.
Taylor brings two decades of experience in the signage and brand implementation space, having led major national and international branding rollouts. His expertise in business management, project oversight, and regulatory compliance makes him a key resource for businesses navigating complex licensing requirements.
The panel discussion will be interactive, allowing attendees to ask questions and gain clarity on the issues affecting their businesses.
