SYDNEY PRINT INSTALLS 3RD HP LATEX R
Trade operation Sydney Print Media has installed a new HP Latex R flatbed print system from supplier Celmac, the third of its type the business has put in within the past two years.
Karl Sun, owner of the business, said, “It is the quality that the HP Latex R is able to produce that makes it the stand out choice for us.”
According to Sun, typical application for the HP Latex R printers at Sydney Print is on retail display work for its trade clients.
The new HP Latex R will join a growing fleet of wide format printers at Sydney Print Media, which includes a quartet of HP roll-to-roll printers.
Based in South Granville, Sydney, the company has been in operation since Sun founded it in 2005 as a dye sub print business, moving into large format three years later. The company has 22 staff members.
The HP Latex R series prints up 1.6m wide, on a maximum media thickness of 5cm. It has 3L ink cartridges for CMYK and white, and will output 28sqm a hour.
Jonny Romney said, “Since we sold Karl his first latex printer, which was the LX 850 3.2m wide roll to roll printer, he soon started adding several 1.6m wide roll to roll printers. He then jumped onboard with his first R series printer, and because of the quality of the output he gets from Latex, he followed up with adding the other two machines in quick succession.
"One of the benefits in production he gets by using latex inks on rigid substrates is that when he puts them through his cutters, he doesn’t get any inks chipping off. The sustainability message was also quite important to their business as more and more people are requesting it.”
