VISUAL IMPACT PROMOTES CONNECTION

Visitors to sign, display and promotional print expo Visual Impact Brisbane in July will also be able to ‘connect with the experts’ who can help support their business success.

Connecting: Seminars at Visual Impact
Connecting: Seminars at Visual Impact to build on those at former shows with presenter interaction

The seminar concept for the Brisbane show has been reimagined by organisers Visual Connections, which says it is keen to ensure that the show delivers maximum value for visitors from the time spent at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Featuring shorter, sharper and more focused than the typical seminar session, the programme will include industry thought-leaders, product specialists and technical experts tackling a wide range of subjects, run in the more intimate environment of the theatre-style Connections Centre.

The idea, says events manager Charly Blades, is to deliver information, and to support relationships.

She said, “Seminar sessions are always valuable for gathering information, but the relationships built across the industry are what can really make the difference, as businesses navigate challenges, evaluate opportunities and make important investment decisions.

“Often, seminar attendees don’t get the chance to actually connect with the presenters and ask their own questions, but in the Connections Centre, conversation will be prioritised – there will be presentations, of course, but it will be much more of a two-way conversation, with the end-goal of fostering genuine connections.”

Two types of presentations will run across the show. Expert Connections sessions will feature industry leaders discussing future challenges and issues of interest, from sustainability for signage, to graphic trends, workplace satisfaction, and the hot-button issue of talent, training and apprenticeships.

They will be complemented by Market Connections sessions, where product specialists and technical experts will present technology-specific information on everything from media, to heat printing and transfers, and from colour management to growing décor applications.

Presenters so far confirmed include Myra Anwar, chief people & culture officer with Smartech, Ben Carroll, managing director of Velflex, Fiona Jacklyn, business development manager at MEGT, Zeff Lowe, business development manager – Signage & Fabric – Southern States & WA for Epson Australia; London Mills, strategic projects & sustainable green print for Visual Media Association and Ryan Warby, national business development manager – Sign & Display for Epson.

Signage businesses wanting some hands-on experience will be able to try the latest channel letter bending solutions and find out about the business benefits of this technology for 3D illuminated signage using LEDs. Bookings are essential and sessions are $25 each - reserve your place here.

Students will also be able to explore careers opportunities at the Try-A-Trade booth, where they will be able to find out more about the range of industry careers available, get some hands-on experience with a range of typical tasks, get advice from TAFE experts and advisors, and talk to current apprentices and industry professionals for a ‘real world’ perspective. The full range of Sign & Print Career Connections resources will also be available on stand.

Visual Impact Brisbane will run from 9am to 5pm on Wednesday 17 and Thursday 18 July, and from 9am to 4pm on Friday 19 July, at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre at South Bank.
