Quote & Print
Dave Bell takes a look at the evolution of Quote & Print as Shanti Kumar comes on board.
It's been 27 years since the first version of Quote & Print Software was launched. The software was written in Basic and ran on an old PDP11 computer that was salvaged from an old type setting system. Today we have over 500 companies using Quote & Print Software in five different countries.
Our new owner is increasing the size of our research and development team. The future will continue to provide us with new challenges. One area we are interested in is calculating the carbon footprint of each print job. Knowing this would be a big step forward to making the print industry carbon neutral and guarantee it a sustainable future.
Judy and myself will continue to be part of the Research & Development team and look forward to seeing you all on our stand at PACPRINT next year.
Thank you for all your support over the last 27 years. We have enjoyed working together with you making Quote & Print Software the great product it is today and assist you to manage and grow your business.
A word from Shanti ...
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new owner of the Quote & Print software company.
I come with over 28 years' experience in the IT&T industry commencing in 1979 when I joined IBM in Melbourne. It was the grand days when a mini computer would cost approximately $250K, took three-to-six months to deliver and today it is less powerful than your mobile phone.
My experience has been in sales, marketing, services and general management in companies such as: IBM/NCR/AT&T/Ericsson/Clarity & Philips.
I have spent the last 18 years in the Asia/Pacific region, having been based in Hong Kong, Taipei, Colombo, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok & Phnom Penh.
It is not often that you come across a quality company such as Quote & Print Software, having been 27 years in the market, the largest supplier of solutions to the printing industry in Australia and New Zealand. We have a great group of partners who are exclusively dedicated to the product and their customers.
Judy & Dave Bell have done an excellent job in managing the product and the company for the last 25 years. I see my job is to take it to the next stage, details of which I will outline in our next newsletter.
I invite any one of our customers to feel free to write to me at any time. My email is: shanti@quoteandprint.com.au
